Privacy policy

This extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. It has no server, no analytics and makes no network requests of any kind.
What the extension does
It adds a stylesheet to https://web.bale.ai that visually blurs parts of the
page — chat names, message previews and text, photos, and profile pictures — until you hover
them or switch the blur off. It also stores your preferences.
The blur is purely visual. The extension does not read, parse, copy, log or transmit your messages, contacts, media or account details, and it does not need to in order to blur them.
What is stored
One settings object: which categories are blurred, the blur strength, the reveal and automatic-blur options, and any custom CSS selectors you add on the options page. Nothing else. No message content, no identifiers, no usage statistics.
Settings are saved with your browser's extension storage. If you are signed into your browser with sync enabled, your browser — Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox — synchronises that settings object between your own devices, exactly as it does for any other extension setting. That transfer is between you and your browser vendor; the settings are never sent to the authors of this extension or to any third party, because there is nowhere for them to be sent. If sync is unavailable, settings are kept locally instead.

The extension's own settings are user preferences, not user data collected by the developer. They are not sold to third parties, not used for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single function, and not used for creditworthiness or lending.

There are no host permissions, no tabs permission and no
activeTab permission. The popup and options page reach open tabs only through
storage change events, so the extension never gains the ability to read your tabs or
browsing history.
Page modifications
Besides the stylesheet, the extension temporarily moves a chat row's tooltip text aside while the pointer is over it — and only while blurring is on and reveal-on-hover is off — because the browser would otherwise display the hidden preview as a native tooltip. The text is restored as soon as the setting changes or the extension is removed.
Diagnostics
An optional setting prints how many page elements each of the extension's selectors matches to your own browser console. It prints counts, never content, and nothing leaves your machine.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
